Dr. David Evans, CEO of Ceatus Media Group, has published a new article in Plastic Surgery Practice (PSP), a magazine aimed at plastic surgeons seeking innovative practice management strategies. Published in the publication’s June edition, Dr. Evans’ latest article – titled Bringing up the Rear – focuses on the importance of back end web site management. (“Back end” being industry-speak for a site’s software and hardware infrastructure, including server software.)
The article poses plastic surgeons with three distinct questions about how their web site is managed:
- Is your web site crawlable?
- Does your back end strategy restrict the display of your before-and-after gallery?
- Can you take your web site with you?
Dr. Evans discusses the importance of these questions and the impact that their answers could have on your potential to market your practice and draw new clients. As he says, “a beautiful, eye-catching web site design can certainly generate a lot of “oohs” and “ahhs,” but if your web site’s back end isn’t strong, that is about all your gorgeous site will get you.”

Consumer Guide to Dentistry has added three new articles to the comprehensive oral health publication covering topics that include same day dentistry and scaling and root planing. Reviewed by advisory board member John Nosti, DMD and executive editorial advisor Larry Addleson, DDS, FAACD, the articles are intended to provide consumers with the salient points related to each subject, in addition to providing a bridge to the most geographically accessible dentists offering treatment.
The same day dentistry article and accompanying same day dentistry FAQ describe the innovative new treatment that condenses some of the more commonly traditional dental procedures into a single office visit, as opposed to multiple visits. The incorporation of technologies such as CAD/CAM, CEREC and E4D make for an advanced treatment experience that saves time and money.
The scaling and root planing article details the thorough form of oral prophylaxis, describing at length the reasons why it is performed and the many oral and general health benefits. Consumers are provided with procedure and after-care information, in addition to approximate cost details.

A March traffic surge of more than 50 percent over the same period last year saw Consumer Guide to Dentistry hit another milestone by surpassing 10,000 visitors on March 7, 2011. Traffic growth is attributed to the quality of content featured throughout the site’s 150 plus articles, which the editorial team continues to add to and update on a regular basis. (The latest articles to go live cover topics that include saliva and dental implant types.) Traffic also has been fueled by Consumer Guide to Dentistry’s unrivaled search engine positioning for organic search terms related to dentistry and oral health; particularly within Google, the most dominant search platform. Some of the most popular search terms used to access the site include teeth whitening, veneers, TMJ symptoms, TMJ treatments and dental implant costs.
Consumer Guide to Dentistry’s sister sites – Consumer Guide to Plastic Surgery and Consumer Guide to Bariatric Surgery – also continue to show excellent traffic gains with rankings for search terms related to elective procedures that include liposuction and tummy tuck cost.

In response to rising consumer demand for geographically-relevant search results, Consumer Guide to Dentistry has launched an IP-based feature to more easily connect its growing readership with its network of top local dentists.
With recent changes in the Google search algorithm, consumers have come to expect an array of locally pertinent search results on the first page of Google relevant to their local area. The sophisticated IP feature provides visitors to Consumer Guide to Dentistry with the same functionality. The newly developed tool is able to pinpoint visitor location based on unique IP address, and access a database of dentists practicing in the area.
This feature allows consumers to review up-to-date articles about topics such as veneers, dental implants and in-office teeth whitening while simultaneously viewing local dentists offering these services. Since Consumer Guide to Dentistry has top-three rankings on Google for virtually every important cosmetic dentistry and dental health-related topic, the portal gives patients near-instant access to comprehensive educational information and local dentists.
“The IP-based dentist program is a game-changer for Consumer Guide to Dentistry,” says Ceatus CEO Dr. David Evans. “It will revolutionize the way consumers obtain dental health information by immediately connecting them to a network of local dentists.”
Consumer Guide to Dentistry experienced another record traffic year in 2010, reaching more than 1.8 million targeted visitors as compared to the 1.3 million reached in 2009; a year over year growth of 38 percent. Early projections for 2011 are equally promising.
Online since 2007, Consumer Guide to Dentistry provides more than 150 pages of easy-to-understand, dentist-reviewed education about all aspects of dentistry and oral health, including general dentistry topics like wisdom teeth and root canal therapy, cosmetic dentistry topics like veneers and Invisalign cost, and everything in between. The site is produced by Ceatus Media Group, an online publisher of consumer health information portals, and is accredited by the Health on the Net Foundation.
